This charger outputs 5 amps per hour. To estimate charging time, divide the amp-hour (Ah) rating of your battery by 5. For example, a 24V 10Ah battery charges in about 2 hours.
Can I charge my battery faster?
For longest battery lifespan, use a charge time of 3–10 hours. However, Dakota Lithium batteries can safely charge at a faster 1-hour rate (1C) when needed. Frequent fast charging can shorten overall lifespan.
Will this charger work with my Dakota Lithium battery’s BMS?
Yes. If your BMS has shut the battery off due to short circuit or low voltage, simply connect this charger — it will “wake up” the battery automatically.
What voltage should LiFePO4 batteries be charged at?
Dakota Lithium 24V LiFePO4 batteries should charge at 28.8 volts. This charger is factory set to that safe, optimal voltage.
Is this charger compatible with lead acid or SLA batteries?
No. This charger is optimized for LiFePO4 batteries only. Using it on lead acid or SLA batteries can reduce performance or cause damage.
