SunGold Power 400A Bus Bar with Cover
The SunGold Power 400A Bus Bar with Cover is a heavy-duty red and black pair built to bring order and reliability to high-current DC systems. Rated for 400A continuous current and up to 48V DC, each bus bar gives you a single, centralized connection point for batteries, inverters, charge controllers, and other high-current components. A nickel-plated brass conductor delivers dependable conductivity and corrosion resistance, while the glass-fiber reinforced nylon base and cover keep live terminals protected and your wiring clean and organized. It's an ideal fit for larger battery banks, solar energy storage, off-grid cabins, RVs, and marine power systems.
SunGold Power 400A Bus Bar with Cover Features
400A Continuous Current - Handles up to 400A continuous at 48V DC, making it well suited to large battery banks and high-power inverters.
Nickel-Plated Brass Conductor - The brass bus is nickel plated for reliable conductivity and long-term corrosion resistance, even in humid or marine environments.
6 x M8 (5/16") Terminal Studs - Six heavy-duty studs per bus bar let you connect multiple batteries, inverters, and charge controllers to one point for flexible system layouts.
Protective Snap-On Cover - A rugged cover shields exposed terminals to help prevent accidental contact and short circuits while keeping connections tidy.
Glass-Fiber Reinforced Nylon Housing - The base and cover are made from reinforced nylon for strength, rigidity, and durability in demanding installations.
Color-Coded Pair - Includes a red (positive) and black (negative) bus bar, so polarity is easy to identify during installation and maintenance.
Compact, Easy-to-Mount Design - Measuring just 138 x 69 x 48 mm, each bus bar mounts with four corner screw holes to a wall, panel, or equipment board.

Frequently-Asked Questions
Can I use this bus bar on 12V and 24V systems?
Yes. The bus bar is rated for a maximum operating voltage of 48V DC, so it works with 12V, 24V, and 48V DC systems as long as current stays within the 400A continuous rating.
Why does it come as a red and black pair?
Most systems need one bus bar for the positive side and one for the negative (ground) side. The red bar is used for positive connections and the black bar for negative, which makes polarity easy to identify and helps prevent wiring mistakes.
What size ring terminals do I need?
Each bus bar has six M8 (5/16") studs, so use ring terminals (lugs) with a 5/16" or M8 hole. Choose the cable gauge based on the current each connection will carry and the length of the run.
Can I connect multiple batteries to one bus bar?
Yes. With six studs per bar, you can connect several batteries in parallel along with your inverter, charge controller, and other loads, as long as the total current stays at or below 400A.
Does the bus bar replace fuses or breakers?
No. A bus bar distributes power but does not provide overcurrent protection. Always install properly sized fuses or breakers between your batteries and connected equipment.
How do I install it?
Mount each bus bar to a flat, secure surface using the four corner mounting holes. Disconnect all power sources before wiring, attach your cable lugs to the studs, tighten the nuts securely, and snap the cover back on to protect the terminals.
