The array makes 58 to 72kWh on a good day, the bank delivers 27.4kWh to your outlets on a bad one, and a refrigerator runs 182 hours on storage alone.
One limit to know before you buy, because it is the reason this kit exists in two versions. Each PowerMax battery sustains 150A, which is 7.68kW. Two of them supply 15.36kW of DC, and after the inverters convert it that is roughly 14,100W at the outlet, not the 20,000W the inverter pair is rated for. Surge is unaffected: starting a well pump, a compressor or an air conditioner draws hard for a second or two and both the inverters and the batteries handle it. What the ceiling limits is sustained load. If you need to hold more than 14,000W for long stretches, the SGR-20K30E puts six server-rack batteries behind the same two inverters and removes it. If you need the batteries outdoors, this is the kit, and 14,000W sustained is more than most properties ever hold.

The 14.4kW array produces roughly 58 to 72kWh per day at 4 to 5 peak sun hours, and more where the rear face of the panels picks up reflected light off gravel, concrete or snow.
Estimated runtimes below are from a full charge with no solar input, based on 27.4kWh delivered to AC loads. That is the 32.14kWh nameplate less the 10% the battery management system holds in reserve, less conversion loss. Real numbers depend on your specific appliances and how many run at once.

Add those together the way a real property does and the picture is a house running its essentials, its cooling and its well through a day and a night without the array contributing anything. What two inverters buy is simultaneity rather than duration: the pump, the compressor, the cooling and a shop full of tools can all be on at once, and 40,000W of combined surge means very little trips it. The judgment call is the sustained ceiling described at the top of this page. Nothing in the table above comes close to it, and neither does the sum of most of it, but a property that genuinely holds 15,000W or more for hours is a property for the SGR-20K30E.

Batteries rated to live outside - Two PowerMax 314 units, IP65 sealed, wall or floor mounted, 271 lbs each. Every other battery format we pair with a kit this size needs an indoor space and usually an enclosed cabinet to sit in.
20,000W from two paralleled inverters - Two 10,000W units working as one, with 40,000W of combined surge. Two inverters also means a fault takes half the system offline rather than all of it, which is not true of any single-inverter kit.
14,400W of bifacial N-type solar - Thirty-two dual-glass modules generating from the rear face as well as the front. N-type cells avoid the light-induced degradation of conventional P-type panels and carry a 30 year linear performance warranty.
Four independent MPPT trackers - Two per inverter, which is why the kit ships four PV breakers and four sets of extension cable. Four trackers means up to four roof planes or ground-mount orientations without one shaded string dragging down the others.
8,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge - At one cycle a day that is past twenty years, and the batteries carry a 10 year warranty against a 3 year warranty on the inverters.
UL1741 listed by ETL - A recognised safety listing on both inverters, and usually the first thing a building department or an insurer asks about. The batteries carry UL1973 and UL9540A.
Expandable on both sides - Up to six inverters for 60,000W of output, and up to sixteen PowerMax units in parallel. Adding a third and fourth battery is also what lifts the sustained ceiling described above.

Call us about the battery cabling before this ships. The kit includes one 1/0 AWG battery cable and two 200A DC breakers, one per inverter. Two inverters pulling their full rating draw well over 400A from the bank in total, and even at the battery's own 300A sustained limit the main run between the bank and the inverters needs conductor sized for the job and terminated properly. Our sales engineers will spec that run against your actual layout, because the right answer depends on how far apart the batteries and the inverters end up sitting. This is not an optional detail on a system this size, and it is the single thing we would not want you to discover on installation day.
How it ships. Kits ship freight on a pallet, which runs longer than the parcel deliveries in our shipping policy: typically 5 to 10 business days. Liftgate and pallet jack are included at no charge, so the driver gets it off the truck and onto the ground at your address. Thirty-two panels and two 271 lb batteries will not arrive on one pallet and this is not a two-person unload. Work out how each battery gets from the driveway to its pad before delivery day and line up equipment, not just help. We send tracking as soon as it leaves the warehouse, and the freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery window. Someone needs to be there to receive it. Installation. Because this is an off-grid system with no utility interconnection, permitting is often simpler than grid-tied solar. Requirements still vary by location, especially for a ground mount of this size or permanent electrical work, so check with your local building department before installing. The UL1741 listing on the inverters is usually the first thing they will want to see. At 20,000W across two paralleled inverters, this is a professional installation.
Wire the panels as four strings of eight, two to each inverter. That is what the four PV breakers and four sets of extension cable are for. Eight of these panels in series operate near 241V and reach 280V open circuit, comfortably inside the inverter's 125 to 425VDC tracking window and well under its 500V ceiling even on a cold morning, and each string draws 16A against a 22A tracker limit. Each inverter then carries 7,200W of the 14,400W array against an 11,000W limit, which leaves genuine room to expand the array later.
The two inverters must be commissioned as a parallel pair. They ship configured for it, but the communication cabling between them and the firmware settings on both units have to match before the system is energised. Get this wrong and they fight each other rather than share the load. It is a normal part of a professional install and it is the main reason we do not recommend this kit as a DIY project.
The first two share these batteries and this battery format. The third shares the inverters and the array. Which one is right comes down to a single question: do the batteries have to go outside, or do you need the full 20,000W held continuously? At the moment you cannot have both.

Why does the page say roughly 14,100W when the inverters are rated 20,000W?
Because an inverter can only deliver what the battery behind it can supply. Each PowerMax sustains 150A, which is 7.68kW, so two of them supply 15.36kW of DC. After the inverters convert that to AC you have about 14,100W at the outlet. We publish it because you would otherwise find out on the hottest day of the year. It affects sustained load only. Surge is unaffected, so motors still start normally. Adding a third and fourth battery lifts the ceiling to the full inverter rating and takes storage to 64.28kWh, and the SGR-20K30E reaches the full 20,000W with the batteries indoors.
Do the batteries really go outside?
Yes. Both units are IP65 sealed and built for it, on a pad or mounted to an exterior wall. You can put them indoors if you would rather, but nothing about this kit requires a conditioned utility room or an enclosed cabinet, which is the practical difference between it and every rack-battery kit at this size.
How cold can they get?
They are rated to discharge from 14°F and to store between 14°F and 131°F. Like all standard lithium, charging is what the cold restricts rather than discharging. If your winters run well below that for long stretches, say so on the call and we will talk through placement, because a sheltered north wall and an exposed pad are not the same installation.
What cabling do I need between the batteries and the inverters?
More than ships in the box, and this is the one item we would rather discuss than guess at. The kit includes one 1/0 AWG battery cable and a battery parallel cable. Two inverters drawing their full rating pull well over 400A from the bank in total, so the main run needs conductor sized for your actual layout and terminated properly. Call us with the distance between the battery pad and the inverter wall and we will spec it.

The 14.4kW array produces roughly 58 to 72kWh per day at 4 to 5 peak sun hours, plus whatever the rear faces add on a ground mount. Actual output depends on your location, season, panel angle and shading.
Can I add batteries later?
Yes, up to sixteen units in parallel, and on this kit it does two things at once: it adds storage in 16.07kWh steps and it lifts the sustained ceiling. A third unit takes the bank to 48.21kWh and past the full inverter rating. Batteries work best when they match the originals in age and state of health, so if you know you will want a third, buy it up front.
Can I install this myself?
We would not recommend it. Thirty-two panels, a ground mount, two paralleled inverters and two 271 lb batteries is a professional job, and at 20,000W the tie-in to a distribution panel is licensed electrician work in most jurisdictions.
