Not Sure This Is The Right System?
Request a Free Solar ProposalThe number that matters off-grid isn't watts, it's how long you last after dark. This kit carries 10.24kWh of LiFePO4 behind a 5,000W inverter and six 450W bifacial panels, which is enough to keep a refrigerator running for more than two days with no sun at all.
120V output only. This kit does not run 240V appliances. No well pump, central AC, electric dryer, or electric water heater. If you need 240V, our split-phase kits start at 6.5kW.

Three common load profiles, with how long this kit carries each one from a full battery and no sun. Many buyers land between essential and cabin household, where a day of sun refills what the night used. If anything on your property is 240V, no amount of battery here will run it.
| Setup | Continuous draw | Runs for |
| Essential. Refrigerator, LED lighting, Starlink or router, phone and laptop charging, a TV. | ~500W | ~17 hours |
| Cabin household. All of the above plus a chest freezer, ceiling fans, a 120V water pump, microwave bursts. | ~1,000W | ~8 hours |
| Working. All of the above plus power tools or a window AC unit running. | ~1,500W | ~5 hours |
The 2.7kW array produces roughly 11 to 13kWh per day at 4 to 5 peak sun hours, and more than that where the panels can pick up reflected light from the back. On a normal day they replace what you used overnight and leave surplus.
The reserve is the reason to buy this kit rather than a smaller one. 10.24kWh can carry light essentials through two or three overcast days without starting a generator, which is a common reason people come back looking for more battery.
Estimated runtimes below are from a full charge with no solar input, based on 8.7kWh delivered to AC loads. Real numbers depend on your specific appliances and how many run at once.
| Load | Draw | Runtime on battery alone |
| Chest freezer | ~100W avg | ~87 hours |
| Refrigerator | ~150W avg | ~58 hours |
| Cabin essentials | ~250W avg | ~34 hours |
| Lights, electronics, internet | ~300W | ~29 hours |
| Full household (essentials only) | ~800W avg | ~10 hours |
| Window AC unit | ~900W | ~9 hours |
| Microwave | 1,000W | ~8 hours cumulative |
| Power tools (intermittent) | ~1,200W | ~7 hours |

10.24kWh of reserve, which is the whole point - Double the storage of our entry 5kW kit. It is the difference between recharging every day and having meaningful reserve when the weather turns.
Bifacial N-type panels, 22.5% efficient - Dual-glass modules that generate from the back face as well as the front, at up to 80% of front-side output where light reflects onto them. Over gravel, concrete, a light roof or snow that is real extra production the 450W nameplate does not capture. N-type cells also avoid the light-induced degradation that affects conventional P-type panels, and carry a 30 year linear performance warranty rather than the usual 25.
Wi-Fi model inverter - This kit ships the Wi-Fi version of the SPH5048P, so production, battery state, and system status can be monitored from your phone through the SunGold app.
5,000W pure sine wave - Clean enough for laptops, medical equipment, and variable-speed tools, not just resistive loads.
Room to add roughly 2,800W more solar - The kit ships 2,700W and the inverter accepts 5,500W, so the array can grow without replacing anything.
7,000+ cycle batteries - Rated past 7,000 cycles with an integrated BMS on each unit, protecting against overcharge, deep discharge, and short circuit. At one cycle a day that is nearly twenty years before the rated endpoint.

The jump to 6.5kW is about capability, not size. If anything on your property is 240V, that is the band to start in regardless of how much storage you need.
| Kit | What changes | Who it's for |
| SGM-5K5E. 5kW, 1.2kW solar, 5.12kWh, 120V | Half the battery and half the array. Same inverter, same 120V limit. | Weekend cabins, RVs, and backup where one night of reserve is enough. |
| This kit. 5kW, 2.7kW solar, 10.24kWh bifacial, 120V | The step where reserve stops being the constraint and a few cloudy days stop mattering. | Full-time 120V off-grid living, workshops, extended-outage backup. |
| SGM-655M. 6.5kW, 2.22kW solar, 5.12 to 10.24kWh, 120/240V | Adds true split phase, so 240V equipment runs. | Anyone with a well pump, an electric dryer, or 240V shop tools. |
Every major system component, matched and ready to wire together.

How it ships. Ships freight as a single shipment. Liftgate and pallet jack included at no charge, so the driver gets it off the truck and onto the ground at your address. Typical delivery is 5 to 10 business days. We send tracking as soon as it leaves the warehouse, and the freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery window. Someone needs to be there to receive it. Inspect the shipment before you sign. Damaged in transit? We cover it.
Installation. Because this is an off-grid system with no utility interconnection, permitting is often simpler than grid-tied solar. Requirements still vary by location, especially for roof-mounted arrays or permanent electrical work, so check with your local building department before installing. Plenty of our customers install these themselves. You'll want real electrical experience before wiring a 48V battery bank.
Space you'll need.
Before you order, it is worth a short call. Our sales engineers will confirm the kit is sized against your actual loads, check the configuration suits how you plan to use it, and put together the list of site-specific parts your install will need. Call 877-556-3347.
Warranty claims are handled through Off-Grid Source. Send us photos and order details, and we take it from there.

Does this kit include everything I need to install it?
It includes the major system components: the inverter, both batteries, all six panels, the DC and PV breakers, solar extension cables, battery cables, Z-brackets, and the manuals. What varies is the mounting and building side of the job. Depending on your site that typically means a rack or cabinet for the batteries, rail racking if you are mounting on a shingle roof or the ground, conduit, junction boxes, building wire, a critical loads panel or transfer switch, and labor. Those depend on your structure and your local code, which is why we spec them per site rather than boxing a set that may not fit. Tell us about your install and we will list exactly what yours needs.
How is this different from the SGM-5K5E?
Same 5,000W inverter and the same 120V limit. This kit doubles the battery to 10.24kWh and more than doubles the array to 2,700W using six 450W bifacial panels instead of six 200W panels. If your problem was running out overnight rather than running out of inverter, this is the one.
Can it run 240V appliances?
No. This is a 120V-only system, and extra battery does not change that. Well pumps, central AC, electric dryers, and electric water heaters need split-phase power, which starts with our 6.5kW kits.
How much energy will this generate daily?
The 2.7kW array produces roughly 11 to 13kWh per day at 4 to 5 peak sun hours, and more where the rear face picks up reflected light. Actual output depends on your location, season, panel angle, and shading.
Can I add more panels or batteries later?
Yes. Panels up to 5,500W against the 2,700W included, and battery capacity can be expanded.
Can I install this myself?
Many customers do. The line worth drawing is where the system meets your building: setting the inverter, running PV, and wiring the battery bank are within reach for someone with real electrical experience, while tying into an existing house panel is work for a licensed electrician. Check with your local building department before mounting a permanent array.
Is LiFePO4 safe?
It is the safest widely available lithium chemistry, with strong thermal stability, long service life, and minimal maintenance. Both batteries include BMS protection.

I was a DIY solar power wannabe... that is 'til I connected with Manny... The man's a prince! He not only knows his stuff; he walked me through all things electrical. To make sure I had all I needed... he gave me his cell phone # to text him anytime I got confused... nights and weekends included. The prices were very competitive... definitely go with Manny -- you won't go wrong!

I would personally like to thank Manny... I purchased the inverter and decided I needed to return it... Manny was very understanding and went out of his way to help me return the product and not even have to pay for shipping return. He gives this company reputation, honor and quality customer service!
